Spafford Summer Six Pack
-
Must have been feeling prankish in April. So hyped for the after show dude! Just made a post about it haha
-
That Williamsburg show was amazing!
-
@damian yes it most certainly was but what was up with that foul odor in the front row?
-
@Johnny-Love the stench of a thousand rotting corpses...
Whatever it was cleared a nice space for dancing up front.

Anyone listen to the Thank You > Walls from 2014-12-31 yet? I think this is one of my top 5 Spafford Jams. Red kills it during the Thank Ya portion, but Brian's playing during Walls is what really puts it over the top for me
-
How about this LTLO from 5/25/13? Brian says "Some lady slipped $5 in my pocket earlier for us to play some reggae, this is what we've got". Talk about patience - a 27 minute version of the song with a really great slow-funk-type-Makisupa-tease jam.
He ends it with "I hope that was worth the 5 bucks you put in my pocket!"
-
@Cody-Soule That's amazing!
-
Onto show #3, this 'Crazy' has a very different arrangement from the studio version and from any version I've heard before, I dig it! Thoughts? I really enjoyed this one. Also the 'Banter' track at the end of the show has Brian telling the crowd about the history of the band name, so if anyone ever asks about the band name, send 'em to this show!
-
Just finished up show #5 and wanted to pop in and say that this show was really awesome. I think you can more of an evolution in their sound between #4 and #5 than any of the other earlier shows. Highlight of this show for me was for sure the uptempo LTLO, but the whole show is worth listening to!
-
@Cody-Soule I'm so bogged down with the backlog of Baker's Dozen shows that I haven't even gotten to our Summer 6 Pack. If only there were more listening hours in a day
-
@Cody-Soule that LTLO is a lot of fun, I wouldn't mind hearing that arrangement more in the future. I also wouldn't mind seeing more themed sets like the second set from this show

@Frito-Pie those are AWESOME!!!
-
Okay, the Dozen is over. It is time to chase those Donuts with a 6 pack.
-
Just getting a start on the BB's show. Really enjoyed the Bee Jam on this one and Cam is an absolute beast behind the kit. The ATW also brings the welcome addition of the jamtronica side of Spafford back. Halfway thru the LTLO and you can definitely tell this is going to be a Spafford show for the books.
-
Holy smokes you can feel the fire from the BB King's show on the AMF.
-
Listening back to the post-Phish show for the first time since Saturday night, it sounds just as good as I remember it. There's not many bands that I would stay out until 4 seeing, especially after a Phish show, but Spafford is one of them. All My Friends was a perfect opener as they needed to come out with a lot of energy, and they maintained that level throughout the night. The band came up with a great, all-originals set list for the night and I was glad to finally hear Red's Jam and Salamander song. Highlights for me were Mind's Unchained and Weasel through Beautiful Day, so basically the last 45 minutes of the set. Do yourself a favor and listen to this show, and get ready for what is sure to be an incredible fall tour.

Just finished listening to BB King's. It was fantastic. You can feel how pumped the band is and it sounds like they know they're on their best behavior. The 'Reprise Fakeout' is clearly a mistake. In fact, I removed it from the SpaffBase setlist because... well... just listen to it. Go listen to that... then the 4/13/2017 Williamsburg Reprise Fakeout. You'll hear what a real fakeout is.
Now on to 5/25/13
- On Fire -> ETS is huge. Spacey, patient, great jam. Solid 40 minutes of straight jam. The transition into ETS is seamless.
-
@damian I was wondering why it was called a fake-out when it really just sounded link they didn't lock in together for the next song haha
