Asbury Park Meet Up
-
From what I remember walking from the train station to the wonderbar last year, Assbury is a ghost town in January. I remember everything being closed, though I did not get there until probably 8pm and will likely be getting there around that time again this year. Really eats it getting to Assbury from NYC but its worth it.
Its a pretty small venue though, I think we shouldnt have any issue finding eachother inside

I'm not familiar with the area at all, but I'll be coming up solo so I'm definitely down to meet up somewhere beforehand for a drink. Hopefully someone more local than I can come up with a good suggestion.
-
I did google research and found some good convenient options and have a friend (one Mr. Jonny Kakes) who is searching his mental database for select recommendations... stay tuned... and please chime in with ideasfor location, occasion, persuasion, anticipation, creation, elation, etc.

Me, Brett and George are rolling in from New England, would love to meet up and pregame!
-
@uconnwes Sweet! Stoked to meet you fine fellas! Also, I tried to tag you in the original post but I couldn't remember your handle.. don't think I forgot about ya!
So here is what I've come up with for spots:
The Robinson Ale House: Right across the street from Wonder Bar on the Boardwalk. Decent beer list and happy hour from 4-7p ($2 off drafts, $5 well)
SoundBooth in the Asbury Hotel: About a block up the street from the venue, smaller beer list, "modern" cocktails, blahblahblah. No info RE happy hour
Langosta Lounge - About 2.5 blocks down the Boardwalk, happy hour from 12p-7p with $3 domestic beers, $6 drafts, $6 well
My vote is for Robinson Ale House for the proximity and prices but I'm down if you're down to get down uptown or downtown anywhere in this goddamn town.

@Johnny-Love Robinson Ale House looks good

Anyone amazing and headed back to NYC post show? Be happy to chip in for some gas/tolls if it means I don't have to rush out of the show to catch the last train back at 11:59 especially since two sets with an opener I have a feeling the show might go later than that
-
Good call. We’ll be fresh in from Rhode Island and probably pretty fuckin’ thirsty. I hope you like to party...because I know we do! Can’t wait to rage with all of ya!!!
-
@dontjudgedave I'm heading back to North Jersey ... could get you to the GW or maybe a town with late night bus/train

@SpaffPrise Hell yeah! And the party keeps growing! Tuesday can’t get here soon enough!!!
-
@Johnny-Love I've never been to the Robinson Ale House so that sounds fine. Before this I was gonna go to the Brickwall Tavern. Good food and nice beer selection when I saw them last year.
-
@stcleve I don't know either joint we just picked this one for proximity... we've been circulating the info on Facebook too so I don't want to risk losing people by changing it... hope we see you at the Ale House before the rage fest!
