I listened to the Portland, OR second set on the way into work today. The flow of that set is unmatched in my opinion.

      Set 2
Windmill, The Fireman > The Reprise > All My Friends > Bee Jam > Leave The Light On

I've never heard The Fireman before and it's alright but that transition into the Reprise is sublime and so subtle. Out of the nasty Reprise it again builds up until you slam into the AMF. Bee Jam goes deep. The places they go in this LTLO are uncharted from what I've heard in the past. Second jam is so fucking beautiful I had tears and chills. So damn good!!!!

I'm going to keep listening because they keep getting better and better.

Took down that Columbia Bee Jam for a second, closer listen today. Lots of great moments in there.

@603Brett I've spun that one about 10 times total. I love how it continues to the return of the Standing Outside a Phone Booth base drum and bass melody after each "exploration"

@GeorgeBailey so much good stuff is right, I'm sure if this thread goes on long enough every show and damn neR every song will get a mention.

One of the sets that I listened to a bunch of times after it dropped is Houston 11/3 Set 2:

Memphis gets the groove going perfectly before they delve into some clean jams that move and change without any wasted time .. some really interesting playing on All In and ATW... the mini It's A Bunch is a tease but 18 minutes of Postman makes up for it 😉

@Frito-Pie these are the cries of the turnips, Rev. Maynard. You see, today is Thanksgiving Day, but to them IT IS THE HOLOCAUST

                          Sept.30 - 2017 - Brooklyn Bowl
One of my favorite's from this year. The ETS is worth it all by itself with its cool little ending there but also the Ain't That Wrong jam through On Fire is great as well. A tremendous night in a sweltering sauna that is the Bowl. Would love a whole tour of Space Bacon opening for them. That's a tour I would A to Z, even in my old age 🙂

Besides Spafford, these albums have been on heavy rotation for me lately:

John Frusciante, PBX Funicular Intaglio Zone

                            Arcade Fire, Everything Now

Miles Davis, In A Silent Way

I'm not listening to anything spaff related, trying not to "burn" myself out before the NYE run. Listening to a lot of Sturgill Simpson lately. All of his albums are great

If you haven't given this huge Backdoor Funk>On Fire>Backdoor Funk some time, you are missing out. Fantastic stuff.
