When posting a video from the show , i will not put it in the bread basket , for new up coming bands nor the Ravens nest , Spafford tabs. Those two are "sub"choices under Spafford discussion. I Will click the discussion when it opens showing two subcategories. I will click the blue new topic icon. Then insert video link and commets. My apologies especially doing it more than once. You're right, both of those subcategories are specific to the topics that they cover. You can always post spafford related content in the Spafford Discussion area of the forum. If you've got content that isn't deeply related to Spafford you can place it in Off Topic Discussion.
When it comes to video and audio of the band, you're welcome to make posts in the forum to discuss, promote, or share that content. It's a great way to kick off conversation about a specific song, show, or video. We ALSO ask the community to help us keep the Spaffbase up to date by submitting those same recordings to the show page for the show that the recordings come from. So for example, the video above could be attached to the show page at: https://spaffnerds.com/shows/2019-02-16
If you go to that page, you'll find a button that says "User Submitted Recordings." When you click that button a menu will appear to let you select the type of and content in the recording you are submitting.
When you do this, I get a notification that there's a new video, I get a chance to review it, and if it's up to the standards of what we accept into the Spaffbase (more on that in a second), I'll approve the recording. Normally this involves an announcement to social media to let everybody else know that there's some new content available. Those announcements go out to Twitter, Facebook, and the Show Release Announcement thread on the forum.
On standards:
- Please don't submit Archive.org recordings. They're automatically added to the spaffbase
- Please don't submit "clips" or incomplete video/audio of songs. We don't need an entire show, but in general your video/audio should be a whole song so that consumers aren't stuck listening to only half of the magic. Exceptions are made for old or significant recordings, and you should message me if you find such a thing.
Finally, you refer to spaffnerds.com as "my webside." (ha ha, I get it
). Remember, This is a community driven site both. We, as a community, drive the content and quality of the site itself. If you see stuff out of place, point it out. If you find content worth including, include it. In general, take positive ownership (not possessive ownership) of what you find here. It will only be as good as the sum of its parts.Thanks for your contributions. If you feel like they're up to snuff, submit them through their show pages and let's get them into the Spaffbase.
