Cabin Jam FTW. π

First time listening. Where has this been my whole life? Perfect showcase at the potent tightness, and flawless commmunication of their improv.

@ThinkBig Oh yeah. It's like the first Abaculus
For those stumbling on this you can find the cabin jam in the spaffbase here:
https://spaffnerds.com/shows/2015-12-07Hilariously the setlist is "Jam > Jam". It's amazing stuff.

I'll have to critically listen through it again soon and add the teases. Off the top of my head, I know there's reprise in there somewhere, can't remember the other, maybe Bee Jam...
The main difference between this and Abaculus is Cabin Jam was broadcast live. It created a rather nice buzz in the community. It got me super pumped for the upcoming NYE run

Cabin Jam is the first thing I really listened to of Spafford. It is 100% what got me into them and made me look into them more. Way better than Abaculus in my opinion. It is just fantastic.

Cabin jam part 2 seems to start with Red's Jam for sure... It looks like Red's made its debut just a few months before the cabin jam happened. I know you need to jump off from somewhere to start an all jam set, but it does not seem right to me to not have Red's on the setlist. I am sure there are probably others that my noob ears didn't catch or place throughout the jam like someone already mentioned above. This is still a gorgeous piece of music even if it isn't a 100% improvised just straight Jam>Jam. Why not get the setlist right? Even if they are maybe just teases it seems worth noting. Someone please correct me if I am just wrong or missing something...

What I had previously thought is that Red's Jam came from the Cabin Jam, but yeah it looks like they debuted Red's Jam even before this, so you have a good point.

It's definitely Red's Jam, but I don't think it's ever been noted that way for some reason. It was really just becoming a song at that point.
The debut at the Fox 9/6/15 was basically a broken string jam to start the encore. Brian comes in after a minute or so.

@RadiantDarkness I swear I hear a Kid A tease towards the end. Iβll have to listen again and find time stamp, as well as confirm if itβs just a vibe or a legit tease. Either way, parts of the Jam 2 give me heavy Radiohead feels. I love it

One of the really cool things about the Cabin Jam is the appearances of some sections of songs within it (i.e. the starting Red's Jam). There's at least one other song that makes an appearance in Cabin Jam 2 but I don't want to give it away! It was only the second or third time the song had really been played I believe.
