@Cody The way they slip into BDF from that Culture jam is so smooth. You can hear them patiently tease their way into it, especially hearing listening to Jordan's basslines as they go into the transition

Someone cosign this Lonely from Syracuse! https://spaffnerds.com/shows/2018-01-19
@Lopez @Johnny-Love @GeorgeBailey @Brett-Tiede @Kyle-Burbank lol
Lonely from: 1/19/18, 3/3/18, and 3/11/18 all deserve a listen. 1/19 is all moss and blissy, 3/3 is cam on edrum -> roaring peak, 3/11 has most energy, can feel the heat pouring out
really depends on what kind of jam you are looking for. 1/19 and 3/11 deserve to be on there, 3/3 honorable mention
I also listened to the 2017 ones (listed above, along with 4/6/17) after listening to all of the 2018 versions. 2017 is more laid back, 2018 more in your face. 2018 is in my wheelhouse so I'd say those are better but others may like their jams more subdued and go with when they first started jamming the song.

I've updated this as far as I can tell. If I've missed anything, check the top post again to make sure the "rules" were followed. This gets a little hard to keep up with at times, so those "rules" make it a little easier.
-
@GeorgeBailey I'm just glad that you started this thread instead of me XD

5/5/18 Todd's Tots weighs in at a cool 15 minutes on the nugs recording. Definitely worth a listen and I'm not positive they've jammed it quite like this before (or ever?). If they start ripping this song proper and blow this rendition away then this version would at least be the shift or signal for the song's ascent to the stratosphere...
-
@RadiantDarkness You are correct. I hope it's the beginning of a new chapter for this tune.
-
Just noticed there is not one version of The Reprise on here. Going to throw out 11/4/17 as a suggestion. While you're checking that out, go ahead and give a listen to that whole second set as it is extremely underrated in my opinion.

Mind's Unchained plays really well in Washington State: see Bellingham 3/8/18 and Seattle 11/14/17
Shoutout to @Josh-Ross for turning me on to the Seattle Mind's last winter
Bellingham is just an incredible show overall -

Bellingham is just an incredible show overallI'll give both of these some (johnny-) love. Hoping some other people will start jumping in this thread and upvoting these suggestions. Feels like it's the same group of us every time...Come on people, 12k views and only 112 posts, let's hear what you like!
On that note, how about that Walls from 6/16/18? Anyone else as hooked on it as I am? Seems like an outstanding version to me.
-
@GeorgeBailey Do you mean 6/16 Walls, or Windmill from diff show? I'll second that Walls, it's GLORRRRRIOUS!

Sorry, Walls. I saw Windmill in the post above mine and must've put that instead! Good catch.

Just a few things ive noticed as i listen to the fellas get down.
12/29/17 "Aint that wrong" is just filthy
9/30/17 "Aint that wrong">>"On fire">>"Aint that wrong" is really strong and it has caused me to go back and listen to any version of "On Fire" with a better ear. Some consider that a bathroom tune...No such thing with these guys. And from the same NY state run "ETS">"Dis Go in 5?">"ETS" which has become quite a tasty sandwhich in the Arsenal that these bring each and every night... -

9/30 AIT and the On Fire are on the list. You may have already noticed that, but just wanted to mention it. Also the 11/16/17 Backdoor Funk>On Fire>Backdoor Funk is one my absolute favorite things I've heard from them.

Lonely and Galisteo Way from Elements Night Set
Our first Galisteo Way added to the list! Love that Lonely.
We need some new recs from this Summer run. Only 4 songs added since April!
-
that Galisteo is soooo good. It reignited my Galisteo flame
-
I'll throw one out there. My Road, My Road from Indy late night is pretty amazing, or Outstanding if you will. 08/11/2018/1

Do we want descriptions of the notable jams? I was present for a few of these and could easily throw together a sentence or two about them. Personally when I browse the jam charts on phish.net I pick things to listen to based on the descriptions. Life is short, gotta choose wisely what to put in your ears

A few recommendations..
11/15/17 LTLO – Oddly, the second jam starts in a major key. Unusually upbeat and eventually cathartic, more like Slip & Squander than LTLO.
10/19/17 BDF - Outshined by the first set's Bee Jam, but very worthy. Quickly departs the typical BDF jam for percussive ground. Amazing upbeat peak explodes into cowfunk before unique phrasing and a metallic guitar tone lend a surreal quality to the song's conclusion.
