DREAM JAM...

I love this song.
Anybody know anything about its origins? Was it a spontaneous jam that then became a song? Did Brian and Nick dream that they were playing it and then wake up and rush to tell each other about their identical dreams? What's the deal, yo??
Also, got some favorite versions you want to suggest/discuss?
For the record, I'm chasing a DJ hard.

Old Prescott song. I was chasing it for a while and didn't see it until 2017. My favorite is probably the one to open Iron Works in February:

Was thinking the same thing - maybe they've got plans to add some words or more to it in the future thats why its still a "jam"
Ive only caught it once, got to the Philly show last fall late and walked in to the middle...loved it

This! The first thing I heard live from Spafford. Blew me right away!

@dontjudgedave I hope it never gets words. I hope Walls gets its words back. But this one is wordless perfection

@Frito-Pie previously the oldest version I had listened to was one of my favorite shows 2012-04-21. But I think the archives have been expanded with some 2011 material recently and I just watched the video of our earliest dream jam in the archives: 2011-05-06. While it's not technically the best, this raw footage is a treat

We added a show thanks to @docphunguy from Prescott 8/17/2011 which had a Dream Jam

Back when I first discovered the band about 6 years ago, I listened to the 3-16-12 show well over 100 times because it was the best recording at the time. It follows legend in this show and others, so I always thought dream jam was a continuation of legend kinda like America and America “The Reprise”.

@ke11en_it could have been anything I wanted, but all I do is dream

@damian I just finished listening to that show. Very nice audience recording if anyone wants to take a listen back to the old days when Jordan was Chris(?) and pre-Red...
Loads of covers (and covers segued into/out of other covers). But even then there are shear moments of brilliance that point straight to the future, such as Dream Jam, Diana and ETS (with the implied Alternate Ending).

@ke11en_it I'd take that pairing any night
