In one of the podcast interviews, Brian talks about Cam's audition with Spafford. Here is the first unofficial audition which many people probably haven't heard. Great recording by Grout:

Cam and his uncle Brian, the bass player in Freezer, and some other local musicians, used to host these jam sessions at Cactus Jacks. Spafford was home from tour and showed up. Red was there too, but the guy that was supposed to bring the keys didn't show (doh!). Fun night for our friends, and a sneak peek of things to come.
