Talking over the music at shows...

What's the deal with all the talking at the shows, during the music? God, I love everything about this band and the fanbase, but this one thing drives me crazy. I have been seeing shows of this ilk since the 90s and have been overwhelmed by the amount of people literally talking over the music at shows.
I know people go to hang out and see their friends. That's cool. But please, WHEN THE BAND IS PLAYING, FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, BE QUIET, OR GO SOMEWHERE ELSE. This has always bothered me and I have told friends of mine to STFU at phish/biscuits shows. Anyone else have this observation/ complaint? or am I just old?
