Covid - Canceled Tours - And What's Next

Nerds! I just wanted to take a minute and remind us all to breathe. Seems ironic in the face of a respiratory illness, but it's probably good advice.
I had the chance to chat with the band today to help brainstorm around the current situation. I learned two things that I want to share with you all:
- There is music coming.
- The band has taken a financial hit and needs our help.
So sit tight, grab your TP, and wipe away the tears. There's music coming to you for your amusement only.
There is Music Coming
The band is working to get out some special releases from the end of Winter Tour. It goes without saying that they want to share and push this as much as possible on every platform, people need music and Spafford needs the love. Help get the word out! The band is currently looking for a studio space in which to run some live streams for you guys. We're all trapped in our houses, so what better way to connect with each other than on couch tour. Maybe we can start a google hangout or something so that we can all see each other and maybe pass a virtual pipe around.
Spafford needs our help
Our boys are working touring musicians. They get paid when they play. They just lost about a month worth of gigs without any notice. This is a hard financial hit for the band. Getting live video streams going requires more than just a cell phone if it’s going to be done right and anything we can do to help will also mean helping get the music back up and streaming. It is up to us, the Nerds, to support our favorite band. As of now, and until further notice, all dollars collected from merch sales on this site will go directly to the band. Spaffnerds will keep nothing. To be clear I'm not saying "all profits" I'm saying "all dollars." Winter Tour Games have come to an end, but I'm waiting on more info on the upcoming live streams so I can create the Quarantine Tour Games. If I'm able to do so it will be the same format as the Winter Tour Games, but possibly have a nightly winner. It will be a fun time for all of us Nerds to do something together in this difficult time.

....am new to Spafford and I promise to spend some money on tickets when this blows over that's for dam sure!In the meantime I cant stop listening!

Don't sweat it Shawn. Obviously the band aren't the only ones being hit hard. Spread the word about them. Tell others who may not have heard. Share shows from this site or from Nugs. You can spend social capital even if you can't spend actual capital.

I hope everyone is healthy and doing well during this pandemic.
I have exciting news!
We may have a Quarantine Tour Games!
I have been collaborating with the Band and Damian. We are possibly going to have a Quarantine Tour Games with the upcoming live streams Spafford has been talking about.
I need to figure out if they will be doing actual sets and encore first to structure it correctly first.
If this does happen this will be a way for us Nerds to help the band out financially in this tough time.
If we do get confirmation with the go ahead it will be a "Pay To Play" game. It will be a $3 buy in for each live stream in order for you to submit picks. Damian is going to set up a $3 purchase item on Spaffnerds.com. If you decide to play you would do the $3 purchase on the website and then screenshot your confirmation receipt and forward the screenshot and your picks to this email.
The band could really use this income to continue to do live streams for us.
Prizes have not been discussed yet, but if there are no prizes who cares we get Spafford streams in return and that's more than enough of a prize for me.
To get a jump start on this I need your help. If you are interested please respond to this email with your full name so I can set up a new spreadsheet. PLEASE DO NOT REPLY ALL. If this kicks off we will have more people than the winter tour games and its hard to go through the Reply All emails and make sure I didn't miss anything.
Tell your family, Tell your friends. Let's try to help out the band financially and have some fun doing it.
