Venue Size Sellouts

Since the 420 show sold out instantly again after being moved to the Variety Playhouse (~1100 capacity), just curious if they have played (and/or sold out) any venues this large, as the headliner? Thanks Nerds!

I haven't seen this happen at this scale yet, but it's basically time to expect this. If they play in a market they've played in before they are going to sell out instantly. To see them is to love them. The word is out.

@damian @Spidergawd after the Terminal West show in January it's no wonder. Although i do think there is a little extra demand than a normal weekend in ATL since its THE after party at 420 (Kinda like BB kings show for the Phish after party). While it'll be nice to graduate to better sounding venues and higher pay days for the fellas, i'm going to miss the 15$ tix and guaranteed rail spots...

Happysad indeed one paradise lost, a new one found

This is one of the larger venues they've played outside of festivals. I think they were anticipating a hot ticket, but it was obviously underestimated. It will continue to happen from time to time as the band grows.
It's hard to predict the response, specifically in newer areas. Some cities just don't show up. I saw them a few weeks ago in a venue with under 100 people.

Sold out the Ogden theatre (1600) on a Thursday last fall. Iām looking for a Fillmore (3700) date this fall. These are in Denver though.

@ke11en_it Thanks! This is what I was looking for...looks like I might be headed to Denver this fall?!

I'm from Atlanta. Went to the Terminal West Jan show here. The place holds 650 people. Was one of the hardest tickets to score to a show in a long long time. Show was amazing. After this run of festivals they will be well on their way. They could do a 3 show run at variety and prob sellout every show here in Atlanta. The next step here would be the Tabernacle.

@Pdaddy55 Wut up, I live in Athens (were you at that 40 Watt show?!). Ya I was surprised how early that Jan Terminal West show sold out! 3 night run at the Variety Playhouse...you read my mind. I'm sure the band/management noticed how quick these ATL shows are selling out, really hoping for a multi-night run to be announced later this year. Maybe even the Georgia Theatre (~2500 capacity) here in Athens...one can hope.

@Spidergawd I was not at the 40 watt show. To be honest, didn't really start giving Spafford a listen until beginning of this year. I had heard some friends out west tell me to check in on them but when you got your favorite bands already in the rotation it's hard to get into a band (at least for me) until you see them live. Spafford was different. Didn't have to catch them live to dig them. I didn't have tix for Terminal West show until the week before when a gal posted them on cash or trade. Lucked out and made the show. Damn what a show. So excited to catch them at 420 and Variety. After this summer run of festivals they will be hard to ignore.
