    • RE: Spafford Chords: Sweet (Cheektones Cover)

Technically, it's a Gary Ukura (CheekTones drummer) song. He is the original writer/composer of the song. Though it is best known for being a CheekTones song, but the song predates the cheektones.
Lyrics look correct to me, but that ain't saying much lol

Side note... Prescott locals consider this the Prescott theme song.

I don't remember the date of my first show. I was not at the first NYE show when they officially called themselves Spafford for the first time. I was at the right place, at the right time. Saw Brian when he was a Cheektone. And saw Brian, Jordan (he went by Chris at the time, don't call him that now, though), and Marty play once, maybe twice, prior to them becoming Spafford. At some point, they started playing almost every Wednesday night at Coyote Joe's (in Prescott, AZ) and there would be 3-5 (staff included) people watching. So many Wednesday nights spent in awe of what was going down and knew the rest of the music world needed to hear Spafford. From the beginning, these guys were gracious, hard working musicians. I have always wanted to see them succeed. And I've been patiently waiting for all you nerds to share in the groove!
