RE: Shows for a new enthusiast?
@BBlank20
It has a solid recognizable riff to start, and from my limited experience, is proving to be a significant type II jam vehicle. But one of my favorite things about Spafford is they can channel whatever band they want to fit their moment, but they always keep the sound distinctively theirs. Phish comparisons are inevitable, and not unhealthy, but I for one am falling so hard for Spafford because they blend so much of my favorite music seamlessly. They’re only going to get better too, it’s exciting! -
Shows for a new enthusiast?

I don’t know how often they jam out Walls, but the Portland version was killer...also like America and reprise so far, among others...the West la fadeaway was great too(I know its a dead tune but great version) -

I entered, thanks! I really appreciate the unexpectedly warm welcome, yet another plus of my overall experience so far! -
RE: Review: 2017-10-07 - Port City Music Hall - Portland, ME
@Johnny-Love
That was exactly how I felt at this show!! I’d never seen them, and holy shit was it a crazy symbiotic transcendent experience!! I even caught the band after the show and gave them hugs and they were so great! As someone who has traditionally committed most resources to seeing Phish, this kind of stuff is unheard of these days! To me it felt like I imagine the late 80s Hunt’s/Nectar’s shows felt like to those early phans. These guys get it. -

This place is great. Thank you for the wonderfully thoughtful and eloquent suggestions! Once I stop listening to this Portland show on repeat I have plenty to get after. Heavy machinery be damned. -
RE: PSA: Your Hearing
@damian
I’ve seen something like 500 live concerts, and I really, really wish I’d started wearing earplugs much earlier. I don’t have any real quiet time anymore. Tinnitus is real. The only upside is that listening to music at a safe(r) level alleviates the ringing now. So I’m always listening to music. Thanks for putting this out there, much love. -
RE: Greetings from Atlanta
@PanicChefATL Welcome! A lot of us are new to the nerd thing, but with Cam settling in, IMHO we’re all in for watching these guys blow straight the fuck up.

For Pawtucket, I was thinking a few things-
There are three family guy scenes: when stewie kills Lois with a machine gun; when he’s behind the shower curtain with a knife; and the ghost of the Pawtucket patriot. Also the paw Sox logos new for 2015 would be great, there’s one super blissed out bear and one breaking a bat..anyway thanks for putting this out there!
