Yay!!!

I’m geeking out a bit over the fact that I have a new band to geek out over. These guys have really grabbed me attention

First time listening. Where has this been my whole life? Perfect showcase at the potent tightness, and flawless commmunication of their improv.

@Cody late yesterday it was either Weasel or All My Friends. America is up there too. I love the gritty Hendrix-ness of the intro. Today though, I’ve been really into Walls, and after listening to the 10/29/16 Leave The Light On, that could be my new favorite.

Safe to say I’m not qualified to pick a favorite yet.

Oh, I also really like Legend. That’s baby making music.

I think I officially have my first favorite Spafford Jam! This sequence has officially blown my mind. You know those moments when your enjoyment of a band kicks into tjay next gear, and you can generally pinpoint the shows or jams that do it each time? Well, I just had one of those moments, and man it’s glorious.

Spafford was great before Cam, and when he came aboard there was of course a learning curve. Now though, what he does behind the kit pushes everyone on that stage to the next level. It’s one thing to have a good drummer. It’s another to have a great drummer. Then, in another category, there are the bands who not only have a great drummer, but a drummer who will challenge everyone on stage, in real time. Not just someone to hold the rhythm, but someone to keep you on your toes. I keep hearing examples of him dropping in subtleties that change the entire dynamic of a jam, and shift it into uncharted territory. This is essential for a jamband.

I’m a guitar guy, always and forever. When I listen to Spafford lately, I find my attention constantly shifting towards Cam. When I saw them in Raleigh, I watched Cam the entire night.

Anyway, sorry for the rambling, but Cam is KILLING IT!

Just wanted to say hello. Been hearing about this band for awhile now, and recently decided to dive in. Working through a list of recommended shows, and loving every second.

@PhillySpaffnerd funny, I had a similar thing happen with my wife. She walked in while I was listening to Cabin Jam, and was like “who is this? I really like it”

Do they always play it after All My Friends? Is it just part of the song, or are there examples of a Bee Jam-less All My Friends?

I’ve yet to see my first show, so I don’t have any stats yet. I will say, come Feb, you can bet I’ll be geeking out over my stats.

I really hope they swing through NC. Would love a Raleigh -> Asheville stretch. They could kill Lincoln Theatre in Raleigh.

@RadiantDarkness I swear I hear a Kid A tease towards the end. I’ll have to listen again and find time stamp, as well as confirm if it’s just a vibe or a legit tease. Either way, parts of the Jam 2 give me heavy Radiohead feels. I love it

@Cody Asheville were supposed to be my first shows too! Unfortunatly I ended up sick.
